The Relief Press.
No ink. Just a change in depth.
Move the light and let the surface tell you what is there.
Contrast can have a direction.
A raised mark can borrow its colour from the material around it. Its edges become legible through light and shadow. Try the same inscription pressed in, then bring the light around to the opposite side.
Use the Relief Surface component ↗A height map, held to the light.
The inscription’s blurred alpha channel supplies a height map to SVG diffuse and specular lighting. Ambient light is normalised to keep the sheet’s base colour steady as the light moves. These three material treatments are authored studies, not measured paper or metal coefficients. Depth and softness are SVG units on an 800-unit sheet.
Text uses your installed serif font; the seal is geometric. SVG export preserves the filters and lighting recipe. Applications that discard SVG lighting filters will not reproduce the relief.
