01 / The palette

Six colors, one atmosphere.

Screen colors are authored interpretations. Material photographs show surface character; they are not calibrated color samples.

02 / Play with the composition

Violet-blue that changes as you turn it.

Keep the large surfaces warm and pale, sisal and limewash, so the violet-blue can be deep without the room turning cold. Use tanzanite violet on a bed, a sofa or one velvet wall, the lighter blue-violet on linen, and red earth on a single plaster wall. Graphite and ebony are for stone and wood.

A lodge bedroom at dusk with a pale acacia bed in deep violet velvet and a blue-violet linen throw, a red-brown earth plaster wall, a graphite stone bedside table with a brass lamp and an ebony bowl, a sisal rug, and Mount Kilimanjaro through a wide window.

Sources & interpretation

An imagined lodge bedroom and specimen tray inspired by the Merelani Hills. The stone facts are from GIA; the room is not a record of a real place, and the colours were sampled from the generated images. This study makes no claims about healing or other properties of the stone.

The palette follows the authored material references in this collection. Room, object and material imagery were created for this study. These are imagined settings, with no affiliation to the fictional interface brands.
