Moonstone & Silver

A blue sheen, held in a pale room.

Mother-of-pearl, moonstone and a touch of labradorite turn a quiet mineral palette into a room of milky surfaces and moving light.

01 / The palette

Six colors, one atmosphere.

Screen colors are authored interpretations. Material photographs show surface character; they are not calibrated color samples.

02 / Play with the composition

Let the sheen be the accent.

Keep the largest surfaces pale and soft. Give blue a measured area, use sea-glass grey to settle the composition, and keep the deepest labradorite tone to one object or panel. Compare matte and luminous finishes in the live specimen.

Materials

The ingredients.

A pale polished moonstone with a soft blue sheen.
MoonstoneA soft blue adularescent sheen in a pale feldspar reference.
A close view of softly iridescent mother-of-pearl, with cream, pale blue and pink layers.
Mother-of-pearlLayered nacre offers a restrained shift of pink, blue and cream.
Small shallow hammer marks scatter soft highlights across silver.
SilverA cooler reflected highlight beside the softer mineral glow.

Sources & interpretation

A mineral and interior interpretation inspired by moonstone associated with Sri Lanka, paired with nacre, silver and sea glass. Moonstone is terrestrial feldspar. Its adularescence, the iridescence of nacre and metallic reflection are different optical effects; the finish controls suggest visual character rather than simulate mineral physics.

The palette follows the authored material references in this collection. Room, object and material imagery were created for this study. These are imagined settings, with no affiliation to the fictional interface brands.

The controls explore screen composition, not physical pigment recipes or material measurements. Image rights · Image permissions
