02 / Play with the composition

Calm walls for the darkest month.

Let juniper frost cover the walls and ceiling. Use birch for the floor and wood, wolf-grey fleece on the sofa and throws, and indigo on a single feature wall. Keep lava black to iron and stone, and let one rosehip red accent carry all the warmth.

Sources & interpretation

A contemporary lodge and specimen arrangement inspired by a Yellowstone January. The fleece, lava rock, juniper, ice, birch, iron, indigo wool, rosehips and granite are visual associations, not a reconstructed historical room or a field collection. Wolf Moon is a seasonal name in a particular naming tradition; it is not a separate physical kind of Moon.

The palette follows the authored material references in this collection. Room, object and material imagery were created for this study. These are imagined settings, with no affiliation to the fictional interface brands.
