Six colors, one atmosphere.

Screen colors are authored interpretations. Material photographs show surface character; they are not calibrated color samples.

The source / Art history

A month above the scene.

Francesco del Cossa’s March at Schifanoia places Aries beneath Minerva. Our fleece, vine cutting, blossom and terracotta form a contemporary spring drawer. They are chosen materials for a kitchen palette, not objects inventoried from the wall painting or measurements of its pigments.

Tradition / Historical classification

A note on the tradition.

In the traditional classification recorded by Lunologium, Aries is cardinal fire, with Mars as its traditional ruler. These are cultural categories, separate from the computed solar position and the colours sampled for this study.
